An Analysis of Cancer Incidence in Pennsylvania Counties

An Analysis of Cancer Incidence in Pennsylvania Counties (PDF) contains numbers for observed and expected cancer cases for 23 primary sites by county and sex.  Standardized incidence ratios are also calculated and used to determine counties with a statistically significantly higher or lower number of cases than expected.  This data is available for all 67 counties in Pennsylvania in various formats, including: maps, graphs, and tables.  The reports are organized into various sections which you can see listed below.
 

Sections:

Introduction (PDF): A brief description of this report.  
Technical Notes (PDF): An explanation of how the figures that appear in this report were computed, what they mean, and a discussion of the limitations and appropriate use of such statistics.  
Data Highlights (PDF): A general discussion of the results of the analysis by major cancer sites.  
Map Highlights (PDF): Maps showing the results of the analysis for the top five major cancer sites for males and females.  
Graphs of Age-Adjusted Rates (PDF): Bar graphs showing the five lowest and highest county age-adjusted rates for the top five major cancer sites for males and females.
Pennsylvania and County Data Tables (PDF): Tables that contain the number of observed and expected cancer cases for males and females for 23 primary cancer sites.  These data are available for Pennsylvania and all 67 counties.  Standardized incidence ratios are also available in these tables.
